How do you do start-ups and run a business in India? Rene Seifert, Bangalore-based entrepreneur and Managing Director of Level 360 Services discusses how to start and what it takes to do business in India.

Rene moved to Bangalore two and half years ago to do software development for his business. But that business failed to take off due to market conditions. But, what Rene discovered is doing a start-up in India makes lot of business and economic sense. He is now involved in offshore-consulting, Innovation & Start-Up management in India.

 

Rene's favorite one liner is: "Geography is History." Rene has first hand experience in doing business in India from the ground-up In this podcast interview Rene discusses what it takes to start and run a business in India Once you clear the initial hurdles, doing business in India is a viable proposition.

Here is what Rene says: "Say, even when starting a smaller company, think globally from the very beginning and act on it: choose freely in which jurisdiction to incorporate the legal entity, from which environment to raise capital, from which countries to source your input-factors and which markets to target with your global product or service."

Rene also offers suggestions and tips and things to look out for when doing business in India. The cultural underpinning like the role of family, relationship building are some of the points to keep in mind when doing business in India he points out.

Rene divides his time between India and Germany. While in India he lives in Bangalore, where his office is located. Before moving to India Rene worked in as Head of Marketing Bayern 3, one or Germany's Top 10 radio stations, and later as Director Entertainment Lycos Europe.
