Scott Rafer is Chairman of San Francisco-based Wireless Ink that provides a mobile publishing service and portal called WINKsite. Many blogs (such as Boing Boing) use WINKsite to make their content available to mobile users. Four of the top 5 cities that use WINKsite are from South Asia.
Scott describes Winksite as a mobile mash-up that allows you to pull your content and plug stuff into it.
In this interview Scott talks about WINKsite, and his recent visit to India.
Scott found that the energy level in India was very different and the time-frames people were dealing with in India felt more like New York.
Scott is a Silicon Valley veteran who has worked in handful of start-ups. Prior to Wireless Ink, Scott was the CEO of Feedster. Prior to that he was the co-founder of WiFinder, the world's largest hotspot finder.
Scott completed his undergraduate degree from UPenn. He has a deep interest in Comparative Literature and thinks that he might get a PhD on that subject some day.
Scott currently lives and works in San Francisco.
